The Yupiteru MVT-7500 is a medium-sized handset intended for only AM / FM modes with long operating time. Typically using normal alkaline batteries, continuous listening extends to about 18 hours, while taking advantage of the energy saving function with an active-stand-by ratio of 1 : 5, it is roughly 44 hours, ensuring uninterrupted use substantially for two whole days. A total of 2.000 memory locations are available, distributed in banks and for specific listening profile. The locations can be labeled with a name or an alphanumeric wording to facilitate their identification. A 128 MB to 2GB microSD card slot allows you to expand the memory by adding 20000 additional structured locations to 10 files of 2.000 channels each. This feature allows not only to increase the number of storable frequencies but also to share the channels lists between multiple users or multiple receivers. A suitable software for Windows enables the management and editing of memories from the PC.
Different ways of searching between band limits, within memories, defining channels to be excluded (skip), on CTCSS tones. During the scans the search speed is 110 channels / second, a fast scan that facilitates the detection of sporadic emissions as well as the effective analysis of a large portion of frequencies. The unit has a double VFO with both frequencies shown simultaneously in the LCD display.
Other features: high frequency stability with a temperature compensated oscillator (TCXO), squelch, CTCSS, ferrite antenna for medium waves band and flexible stylus antenna for HF / VHF / UHF bands, keypad lock, battery-save function.
MVT-7500 performance and practical notes :
This Yupiteru scanner has a good ergonomics thanks to the size, while also expressing very mediocre selectivity. However, is an interesting receiver offering a mix of functions and flexibility not present in the previous MVT-5500 model. In evaluating a purchase, however, make sure that the apparatus is accompanied by the manual in English, this indication is especially valid for exchanges made by individuals.
