TS-450S digital modulation function :
With the Digital Signal Processor DSP-100 transmit and/or receive in SSB, CW, FSK and AM mode are done by 16-bit A/D and D/A converters. Connect the four cables supplied with the DSP unit as show in the figure below, note the 6-pin cable from the CONT-IN connector of the DSP-100 to the connector at the left side of the TS-450.
Kenwood TS-450S digital modulation function with DSP-100
Features of each mode: SSB, higher quality modulation than a normal SSB signal is obtained. CW, excellent characteristics are obtained through digital form-restoration of the wave shape. AM, low-distortion modulation with excellent amplitude and group delay characteristics is obtained through digital modulation and by using the 84th FIR filter. FSK, excellent low-distortion modulation is obtained through FSK modulation with continuous phasing after the digital form-restoration. More, received SSB / CW and FSK signal are detected by the DSP circuit.
