The Yaesu FT2D, or FT2DR in USA/Asia/Australia and FT2DE in Europe, is an advanced dual band digital handheld transceiver with 4.3cm (1.7 inch) high resolution touch panel display. This leading edge transceiver is designed with ease of use in mind packing an oversized back-lit display that provides loads of information through an easily navigable interface, providing stress-free operability and a high level of on-screen visibility for the operator. DG-ID (Digital Group ID) feature,
The Group Monitor (GM) feature enables automatically locating and communicating with other stations that have the same DG-ID number within contact range.
Digital Personal ID (DP-ID) feature,
With this feature may communicate only by the transceivers registered the individual ID information that is different for each transceiver included in the transmission radio wave of C4FM digital communication.

A really useful, and even great transceiver.
Unfortunately it is let down by its tiny speaker, which gives a tinny sound along with white noise which makes distant stations hard to hear. The only solution might be an extension speaker or when portable, a speaker-mic.
