Compact HF transceiver which features a detachable front panel that can be mounted separately from the main body. Perfect as base or mobile station, it provides up to 100 Watts adjustable power output. General coverage receiver from 100 kHz to 30 MHz with 2.5 Hz min steps, IF shift, notch filter, RIT, NB, 100 memories. Electronic keyer, AF speech processor, optional ATU (standard in FT-900AT), CAT computer control. Ideated in Japan, year of introduction 1994.

FT-900 description :

The FT-890 was upgraded with the FT-890AT version, that includes the internal ATU-2 automatic antenna tuner. The FT-900S, with 10 Watts power output, its a QRP version of this Yaesu transceiver. Main specifications are unchanged. For mobile operation a lightweight detachable sub-panel permits separating the transceiver and mounting the rear main unit (radio body) in a remote location, keeping the most-commonly used front panel controls and display where you need them-in a confortable, safe location. This makes the FT-900 convenient for mobile and maritime amateur operation, or wherever space is critical. The YSK-900 separation kit its required for separate installation.
