Rugged, multiband, multimode transceiver for the amateur radio HF/VHF/UHF bands. It's capable of 20 Watts portable operation using internal batteries, or up to 100 Watts when using an external DC power source. A true mobile/base rig for either QRP or full power radio stations. Receiver with DSP bandpass filters, 60Hz narrow CW-filter, noise reduction, auto-notch, RIT, IF shift, dual watch. Electronic keyer, digital microphone equalizer, CTCSS encoder and decoder, 0.5ppm TCXO, 200 memories, spectrum scope. Ideated in Japan, year of introduction 2001 (FT-897) / 2004 (FT-897D).

FT-897 series :

The Yaesu FT-897D is a upgraded version of the FT-897. The FT-857D add 60 meter coverage and include the formerly optional TCXO-9 high stability option. This radio comes with MH-31A8J hand mic and DC power cord. For true portable use the optional FNB-78 Ni-MH battery pack provide 13.2 Volt of DC power, you may install one o two FNB-78 into the transceiver. With one battery pack the capacity is 4500 mAh, with two is 9000 mAh. The maximum transmission power is reduced to 20 Watts (10 Watts on 430 MHz) with the internal battery operation.
