FT-290R review
G1BED | July-10 2024 |
A great all-round radio for a newbie. Got mine when first licenced 40 years ago and still have it, with the Mutek front end replacement. Many happy days spent hilltopping including Malmo in Sweden from SW England with just 2.5W and a half wave!

I have FT290, FT690, FT790 radio transceivers, they are all brilliant little bits of kit, ideal in the car or "hill topping". I've enjoyed 40 years of use from them, the only problem has been the display back light failing, although easily fixed.
