The Tecsun PL-210 is a small receiver with interesting performances. The circuit adopts a double frequency conversion structure covering seamlessly long waves (150-519 KHz), medium waves (522-1620 in steps of 9 KHz, 520-1710 in steps of 10 KHz) and short waves from 1711 up to 29999 KHz plus, of course, the FM band. Distinctive feature is the ample space available to store favorite stations with 1700 locations divided into easily navigable pages. The tuning can be done by rotary control, by enter directly from the keyboard, recalling a memory, finally activating an automatic search that leads to identify the signals of greater amplitude. The display clearly shows all useful information including over the frequency the SW band in meters, the signal strength, the FM stereo condition, the clock in the 12 or 24 hour format.

Other features: sensitivity control, clock, alarm, sleep timer, keypad lock, internal ferrite antenna for LM-MW bands and extractable stylus for SW-FM, battery charge indicator. The package includes a wired antenna and a hand carry belt.

PL-210 performance and practical notes:

This small Tecsun is a basic device but at the same time equipped with all the features to make it a good choice if you want a World Receiver easy to use for the local and international broascasting listening. Weakness inherent to the compactness of the internal circuit, therefore not a defect as such, is recognized in the modest selectivity that reduces the quality of listening in the presence of strong signals near the tuned channel.
