The radio uses digital tuning which locks on to stations, while still maintaining an analog interface. The CCRadio-EP PRO is an enhanced version of the original EP model with superior selectivity and sensitivity. It is a radio built specifically for ease-of-use that addresses the desires of some customers. Built-in is the patented Twin Coil AM antenna, a 12 x 200mm (7.9") long ferrite bar. There is also a large 12.7cm (5-inch) high-quality speaker along with bass and treble controls so that the audio is accurate and rich.

Other features: Enhance AM reception by tuning the small AM fine-tuning knob for maximum clarity. Wide-Narrow bandwidth knob switch for your sound preference and interference rejection. Line input jack for connecting a portable music player or other device which would use the radio as the speaker. Flip-up handle for easy portability.

CCRadio-EP PRO performance and practical notes :

The sliding pointer that indicates the station frequency are an mechanical, old-style, Tuning Dial. But inside the radio an PLL circuit, built-in to the DSP microprocessor, control and stabilize the frequency. When the CCRadio-EP PRO first premiered in May 2018, it was 10 KHz tuning steps only. A few months later CCrane added in the toggle for 9 / 10 KHz tuning steps. A set of 4 x D alkaline batteries rated at 21000 mAh would provide roughly 175 hours of runtime.
