The world's smallest HF/VHF/UHF multimode transceiver at its introduction provides base station performance from an ultra-compact package that's ideal for mobile or external battery portable work. High-output transmitter design with 100 Watts on HF and 6 meters, 50 Watts on 2 meters and 20 Watts on 70 cm band. Wide frequency coverage receiver with DSP bandpass filter, auto-notch filter, digital noise reduction, IF shift, Spectrum Scope. Upgradable with COLLINS mechanical filters. Big tuning dial, remote-head operation, CW trainer. Ideated in Japan, year of introduction 2003 (FT-857) / 2004 (FT-857D).
