ATS-404 description :

The Sangean ATS-404 is a small receiver characterized by a flexible use thanks to the keyboard for the direct frequency input in addition to the traditional up-down commands. Over the medium waves (MW) and the FM, it continuously covers the short wave portion (SW) where there are segments dedicated to broadcasting stations. The user can also access the 14 sub-bands (120 ~ 11 meters) for even simpler use, which can be appreciated in regular listening. A set of 45 memories are then available to record the favorite stations, there is also the Auto Preset System (APS) function following a frequency scan for the MW and FM bands.

Other features: choice between 3 different audio tones, clock, alarm, sleep timer between 15-90 minutes, internal ferrite antenna for MW band and extractable stylus for SW / FM, battery status indicator, battery life about 20 hours for a medium/low volume use.

ATS-404 performance and practical notes :

The Sangean ATS404 is not compact in size as for other world receivers put on the market recently, but this is not a negative aspect as it makes the practical use of this portable very pleasant avoiding the pitfalls that accompany the modest ergonomics of other models. In general this Sangean is aimed at those who prefer listening to broadcasting without needs related to the DX, the selectivity and the minimum tuning step in the SW frequencies are consistent with this profile.
