The IC-729, a compact HF/50 MHz transceiver, covers all 9 amateur-radio bands from 160 to 10 meters with up to 100 Watt output power and 6 meters band with up to 10 Watt. Triple conversion receiver, 10 Hz display and tuning step, RF preamplifier and attenuator, PBT, Noise Blanker, RIT, CW break-in, speech compressor, split frequency and cross mode operations, analog S/RF meter, 26 memories, band stacking register, three types of scanning. Ideated in Japan, year of introduction 1992.

36	Ground terminal
37	External speaker jack. 4~16Ω
38	CW break-in switch. The CW break-in function starts transmission without pushing the transmit switch or PTT switch when the CW key is ON, then automatically returns to receive when the CW key is OFF
39	CW break-in delay control. Adjust the transmit-to-receive switching delay time for the CW break-in operation
40	CW key jack. Accepts a straight key or electronic keyer
41	Accessory socket. Enable connection to external equipment such as a linear amplifier, an automatic antenna tuner, TNC for data communications
42	ALC input jack. Connects to the ALC output jack of a non-ICOM linear amplifier
43	Send control jack. Goes to ground while transmitting to control external equipment such as a power amplifier
