FT-747GX / SX review
Angelo IU6RKC | 4 March 2024 |
I am the happy owner of an FT-747GX that I got in 1992. I use it a lot on 10 meters, I also have the optional FM card, I get many excellent modulation controls. After all these years it has never been to a technician and it is perfectly aligned.

Bought one new back in 1985 or so and loved it. Very sensitive, easy to use and full 100 Watt out using a car battery or other 12V source. Used it several years as my main radio and got great reports from all around the world from Oklahoma. They were called fantastic plastic as they are light but rugged though the outer casing was plastic Yet performed as good as more complex radios. I like them because a car battery in the middle of the field with a wire tossed over a tree will get you contacts for thousands of miles. Simple to use but tons of ability.
