The AR-Alpha is a conventional receiver with regard to the frequency conversion structure while it is digital in the last IF (zero-IF) for the filtering, demodulation and signal processing. In addition to conventional SSB / AM / FM modes this AOR radio set can display analogue TV signals in NTSC, PAL and SECAM formats. Added to these are the peculiarities of P25 digital reception, the SDB (sideband diversity) or the reception and comparison of the both side-bands of an AM emission, the RZ-SSB (Real Zero SSB) experienced by amateur radio operators. It is also possible to receive digital QAM / GMSK emissions. Through the USB port this data with a speed up to 1 Mb/second is transferred to a computer in the I/Q components (in-phase and quadrature) in order to process them with software dedicated as well for memorize them. A digital audio recorder moreover allows you to keep track of the radio traffic you listened up to 52 minutes for 6 channels.
A spectrum analyzer in FFT technology, purely digital and in real time - not the result of a linear frequency scan, shown on the color LCD display with a dynamic greater than 90 dB. Other features: IF filter bandwidth selection, CW pitch-control, noise-blank, DNR, auto-notch, automatic frequency control in FM mode, RF attenuator, selectable AGC time constant, squelch, DTMF / CTCSS / DCS decoder, frequency-inversion scrambler decoder. Multiple search options: between band limits, within the memories, on a priority channel. The scan can be done in Search mode or FFT. The former is conventional, where among the frequencies identified it is possible to transfer to the relevant VFO the one of interest. The second one allows to establish also the intensity beyond which the signals will be searched. This mode is faster, with 40 MHz scans that can be obtained in a few seconds.
The AR-Alpha receiver offers professional performance even for the high frequency stability, marker management in spectrum analysis, unattended datalogging. Standard 19" 4U rack mounting with appropriate fins already provided (shown in upper image ).
